Prayer for Korea and the restoration of Israel

This is South Korea. Up until 1866, our country was a nation that did not know God, that is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In that year, a missionary was killed in our country and died, leaving a bible in our country. That Bible turned into wallpaper inside a house and then it became the first church in our country.

In 1907, the Great Awakening occurred in Pyeongyang (current in North Korea). We call the Great Awakening like the Pentecost of Korea.

Our country has known many trials. Japan invaded our country and forced shrine visits from 1910 to 1945. The independence movement of our country was centered around the church, and we had to shed much blood against the forced Japanese shrine visits. However, when the repression of the Japanese imperialists reached the extreme (it would not be comparable to the suffering that Jews have suffered across the world…) the Korean church succumbed to the shrine visits and the Japanese donation of military supplies (such as fighters), thus making the church a repressor of our nation and people.

In 1948, we look back on our poor people who had not forsaken God, and we see how we stood by ourselves, setting our country up again. This effort was the result of independent fighters, desiring to become a kingdom for God and his love; the God who loves our poor people like Israel. These contents can be found in the minutes of the first meeting after Korea gained independence.

By the way, all of Korean church did not repent. Only some of the churches have repented and officially announced their mistakes.

As a result, in 1950, another pain, the Korean War, befell us.

twoThen one nation was divided into two. A statue of the North Korean dictator Kim Il Sung is established in the place where the first church of our country is located.

As you well know, North Korea still suffers from the worst human rights abuses. They can not build churches, they can not worship God, they cannot confess that they love Jesus nor can they read the Bible. But the important thing is that there are many underground churches in that wicked place. They are memorizing Bibles in their heads and are keeping their faith in while enduring suffering.

On the other hand, what about South Korea and churches? Some of the churches join the WCC against salvation only to Jesus (God). Only some of the churches oppose homosexuality.

Other issues include engaging Muslim forces for money and recently being friendly with a political party that embraces neo-Marxist ideology (Pro-North Korean regime).

And now the United States pressures North Korea in a variety of ways,
but North Korea continues to test missiles. China and Russia are too involved in the situation. The United States is thinking of the worst possible extreme.

I remember the words from the letter to the Romans.

For if their rejection leads to the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? If the firstfruit is holy, so is the whole batch of dough; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. (Romans 11:15-21)

Please inform Israel about Korea and pray for our country and North Korea.
Please know that when places like North Korea open up there will also be a full restoration of Israel.
