LISTEN: Matthew 21: Jesus the Servant Healer

Rev. David Pileggi reminds us that Jesus came to serve and give himself as a ransom for many. This is the paradox: He rides in on a donkey and not a warhorse. He comes in vulnerability, gentleness and humility. Jesus is a healer and as such He loved the Temple; the blind and lame came there and he healed them. Rev. Pileggi concludes the sermon with a reflection on salvation. It is a summons to the promised land; coming into a place of destiny and secondly, God wants to create a people, called out, with direction, going on a journey together, a community in which God lives. We are called to live in humility, not to be served but to serve. Why did God save us? To purify for himself a people.
